First Tech Challenge (FTC)
Outreach Lead 
September 2019 — June 2023
FTC is an international robotics competition for students in grades 7–12 to compete head to head, by designing, building, and programming an autonomous, semi-autonomous, or driver-operated robot to compete in an alliance format against another team. As the outreach lead, I led the outreach team to organize STEM events (ex. STEM fair, hackathon, etc.), fundraise over 10K, and obtained 5+ sponsors. I was also involved in helping instruct 30+ students from grades 4-5 for First Lego League. We have placed 1st nationally for several years.

Mastercard Foundation Consulting Project

Ethiopia’s agriculture industry is being heavily impacted by climate change and requires AgriTech innovation to revive the economy. We developed three intricate initiatives: a skill training program, the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, and funding for agricultural entrepreneurs.

Tackling Underwater Noise Pollution Using AI Megaphones

The 6,000 container ships that traverse the oceans daily create 235 decibels each of anthropogenic noise every day, causing a domino effect on marine life. Our solution offers complete noise cancellation for ships in a three-dimensional space, enabling eco-friendly speed increases without additional noise pollution by synchronizing sound waves with vessel emissions.

Volta Energy | Farming for the future, powered by the sun

At Volta Energy, we use agrivoltaics — the practice of growing crops under semi-transparent solar panels. This solution uses land more efficiently to generate electricity, increase crop efficiency, and reduce water usage.

Advancing Carbon Farming in East Africa with GIS, Soil Spectroscopy, and Machine Learning. We developed a systemic and reliable approach for Shell to track and identify high quality carbon credits through the MRV method.
